Welcome to the Million Peso Homepage!

This is not just another gimmicky “send me your money” type of site. Okay, so maybe I picked the name because it was a bit gimmicky. You got me on that one.

But let me reassure you that you will never see a page full of hideous looking pixels like that one site with million and homepage in the title.

Nope. All you’ll see is the documented quest of one schmuck trying to amass a fortune of one million pesos. I know, it is no small feat to amass such a fortune. However, it is a challenge I am willing to take.

Why one million pesos? Don’t I know the value (or lack thereof) of the Mexican peso?

Yes, I do indeed know the pitiful value of the Mexican peso. But here is what I’m thinking….

This is no ordinary gringo here. I don’t need a million dollars or a million euros. This gringo can stay above the poverty line with a mere million pesos! And that is roughly $90,000 US dollars. Of course, with the way the current exchange rate for the dollar is going, the Mexican peso might be worth more by the time I actually get a million pesos.

Other reasons I’m all about the Mexican peso:

You might be wondering what I plan to do with the handsome sum of one million pesos when I actually get up to that amount. Well, here is how that will go down:

I will take one half of the money (approx. $45,000) and use it for myself to pay down some bills and what not. Make no mistake though, I will have earned every penny of it as blogging is hard work!
I will take the other half (approx. $45,000) and do something pro Brown Pride with it! All jokes aside, I plan on looking for something Hispanic-positive to do with it. That might be finding a charity that is Mexican or Hispanic or I have also toyed with the idea of giving it to a filmmaker that is making a all-Hispanic film or short film. As I get closer to year end (Dec. 2008) and closer to that million peso mark I will talk more about this decision and possibly even let readers help me to decide.
